Cornerstone Institute of Technology is pleased to offer the following courses beginning in January 2010: Adobe Photoshop CS4 extended Adobe Photoshop has been the industry standard in image editing for nearly 20 years and is the flagship product of Adobe Systems. This versatile piece of software finds applications in photography, graphic and web design, manufacturing, medical imaging, architecture, and many more fields. Its functionality can also be combined with other Adobe programs such as After Effects to create backgrounds and visual effects for television and film. A proper understanding of Adobe Photoshop can open the door to many exciting career options and is a must for anyone interested in digital media. New features of Photoshop CS4 include the ability to paint on 3D models, wrap 2D images around 3D shapes, and export to several common 3D file formats. Students will learn the various functions Photoshop CS4 supports, such as image adjustment, use of layers, digital painting, managing color, and preparing images for print. 2 weeks - 4 hours a day, 6 days a week (48 hours) $1399 (includes software) Rhinoceros 4.0 Rhino can quickly develop your drawing, sketch, scan data, physical model, or an idea into designs ready for rendering, animation, drafting, engineering, analysis, and manufacturing or construction. Students will learn to create, analyze, edit, document, render, animate, and translate NURBS curves, surfaces, and solids with unlimited complexity, size, or degree. Rhino offers uninhibited free-form 3D modeling, unrestricted editing, extreme precision, 2D drafting/annotation/illustration, flatten 3D surfaces into 2D patterns and drive laser/water jet cutters/plasma, large project organization, compatibility, file read and repair, customization, direct connection, speed, short learning curve, affordability, and supports polygon meshes and point clouds. Rhino can easily implement an idea or design and communicate it accurately to the research and development team, marketing, and manufacturing or construction. 4 weeks - 4 hours a day, 6 days a week (96 hours) $4999 Autodesk Maya 2010 For over 10 years, Maya has been the cutting edge in digital imagery and feature development found in Academy Award winning films and top selling video games. Maya 2010 delivers extensive 3D modeling, rendering, animation, innovative simulation, high performance compositing, visual effects, and flexible software development kit (SDK) and scripting capabilities offering artists an end-to-end creativity and optimized workflows for maximum productivity at an affordable package. Students will learn to create and develop stylistic designs, believable animated characters, and lifelike visual effects from initial concept to finished renderings: polygon and NURBS modeling, animation and rigging, UV mapping and texturing, dynamic simulation tools, plants and other natural detail generating tool, advanced compositing capabilities, and four built-in renderers including mental ray. Maya is engineered to over-achieve today’s increasingly complex data sets without restricting and limiting creativity. 4 weeks - 4 hours a day, 6 days a week (96 hours) $4999 Autodesk Autocad 2010 Autocad being the leading program globally for computer-aided drafting/design and documentation platforms, has become a necessity to architects, mechanical and civil engineers, facility planners and managers. Since it’s introduction in 1982, autocad has gone a long way providing more power and innovation to aid in user documentation, communication, and design customization. Autocad 2010 begins by focusing on basic 2 dimensional drawings and editing tools, objects on layers, text, basic dimensions, efficiency tools, advanced plotting, complex objects, using external reference/image files, and enhancing productivity with simple customization. Once students master the basics, they will continue to explore 3D modeling with free-form design, PDF enhancements, and parametric drawing tools. Since the release of Autocad 2010, users now have 3D printing capabilities which makes it easier to produce physical 3D models and prototypes. 4 weeks - 4 hours a day, 6 days a week (96 hours) $4999 Search Engine Optimization With over 100 million websites in use today, it's becoming increasingly difficult to get yours noticed. It's not as simple as submitting (or paying someone to submit) your site to the top search engines. You must design a site a computer can read and understand, as well as build a useful site that others will link to. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the practice of designing your website to get more prominent placement in the search results of Google, MSN, or the many other search engines — all without spending money on pay-per-click advertising. An understanding of SEO is a must for people interested in marketing as well as web development. In the SEO course, students will learn about ethics, as well as the use of meta tags, keywords, analytics, copywriting, and social networking in getting better placement in search results. 1 week - 4 hours a day, 6 days (24 hours) $999 Courses also coming in January 2010 include: Autodesk Alias Dassault Systems Solidworks 2010 Pro-Engineer 4.0 (Wildfire) Please watch this space or call us for more information about these upcoming programs. |
